Having been together for such a long time has allowed the girls to develop a special chemistry on the field, which can be intimidating to their opponents. The girls learned their positions on the field at an early age and have developed their skills to a level where they play their positions and communicate with each other throughout the game so very little coaching is necessary from the sideline .
The Fireballs are a team without any "superstars." Every girl on the team has scored goals during each of the last few seasons, and the girls can play multiple positions. All of the girls have contributed to the success of the Fireballs.
The Fireballs, have compiled an impressive record. Over three seasons of regular season play, the Fireballs have had 31 wins and 0 losses while scoring over 140 goals to their opponents' 4. The team has earned a reputation over the years within Klein Soccer for being a very talented and skillful team, but also for good sportsmanship and clean play on the field. The girls want to win, but they want to win fairly with their skills and talent.
They have taken this reputation on the road to other areas outside of Klein playing in many tournaments over the years. Even though the girls are purely a recreational team, they have played select teams that have professional team trainers and they have played teams in older age brackets in tournament play.
The Fireballs' tournament record is impressive itself. The team finished as the champions in their age bracket with 4 wins and no losses and zero goals scored against them in the 2005 Austin Labor Day Cup. In the 2006 Labor Day Cup, the Fireballs defended their title, winning all of their games and allowing only one goal by their opponents.
The team continued their success, winning first place in the Cy-Fair Valentines Day tournament with no losses and no goals scored by their opponents in 2006, and went unbeaten in the Bluebonnet Tournament in Brenham in 2006. The Fireballs also won first place in the 2006 Heat Wave tournament in Kingwood, winning all of their games and allowing only one goal by their opponents.
The Fireballs have compiled a very respectable record since they have been together, but what makes the team a success is that the girls play with all of their heart and truly love the game and in the process of becoming great soccer players, they have learned the importance of teamwork and have developed friendships that will last a lifetime.
