Update! List of items up for bid can be found here!

Covenant Christian School (CCS) of Palm Bay, FL will be holding a first ever Fundraising Auction on November 13th from 6-9 pm. Not only will $15 per person get you in the door (Couples are $25), but you'll also enjoy hors d'oeuvres, dinner, and dessert.

I'm planning on attending this event so I decided to ask Anne Frye, CCS's Fundraising Coordinator, to explain a few things about the night. As always, for the latest information about the event, follow the link to CCS' webpage at the end of this article.

When will this fundraiser take place?

Friday, November 13, 2009 6-9 pm
Doors open at 6:00 pm

Silent auction and dinner run from 6:00 to approximately 8:00 pm
Live auction begins after silent auction ends

What is the fundraising for?

Proceeds go to support and expand the Ministry of Covenant Christian School in Palm Bay, Florida. This fundraiser is one of two major fundraisers that the school does annually. You can tell readers that if they are unable to attend but would like to support this event financially, donations may be sent to:

Covenant Christian School, 720 Emerson Dr. NE, Palm Bay, FL Attn: Anne Frye.

All donations are tax-deductible, and you will be issued a tax receipt after the event is over.

Will I be asked for donations or can I just come and watch the fun?

Items will be available for bid, both via a silent auction and a live auction, but bidding on our items is entirely optional. You will not be asked for donations at the event. If you prefer to simply join us for dinner and watch the rest of the proceedings, that is fine -- but, there is a cover charge for the event (which includes hors d'oeuvres, dinner, and dessert) of $15 per person/ $25 per couple.

Is this open to the public?

Yes, we welcome anyone who wants to come!

Can I show up on the night of the event? Or do I need reservations?

We are asking for advance reservations in order to help our caterer prepare adequately. The deadline for reservations is November 10th, but we encourage you to respond as soon as possible. To make reservations, send your payment ($15 per person / $25 per couple, cash or check made to CCS) along with your name, address, phone number, and how many in your party to

Covenant Christian School, 720 Emerson Dr. NE, Palm Bay, FL, 32907 Attn: Anne Frye

This sounds like a lot of fun. Will there be a live auctioneer?

Yes!

I understand there is a silent auction on some items. Will the silent auction be held in the same building? Will I know if I've won that night?

The entire event (dinner, silent auction, and live auction) will be held in our main Worship Center (all in the same building) so you will be able to keep an eye on your silent auction "items of interest" while you mingle and enjoy our hors d'oeuvres and dinner buffet. The silent auction will close before the live auction begins, so you will know right then whether or not you have won any of the silent auction items. All items need to be paid for (cash or check only) and picked up before you leave that evening.

A big thank you to Anne for her time in answering these questions.
