The First Deception

Nancie Norton
It all began, with Adam and Eve
The blantant attempts, to deceive

God had given them, oh so much
All things good and beautiful, right there to touch

One instruction, he gave to them
He asked, that they not disobey him

But satan pulled out all the stops
He tempted Eve with the Apple crop

He caught her alone, out in the garden
God's rules, satan talked her into discarding

Then she invited Adam to have some too
Taking a bite of that apple, he agreed to do

God was watching right from the start
Seeing this all, just broke his heart

That's when they discovered, that they were nude
This turned something beautiful, into something lewd

When God called to them, they would not come
Looking for cover, they now felt they needed some

From that day on, the plan was changed
Life as they knew it, had been rearranged

The deceit that satan used, still goes on today
So many more temptations, now come our way

God gives us a chance to choose wrong or right
When satan tempts, we can give in, or fight

So today when you're tempted by that deceptive old snake
Give alot of thought to the choice that you make....
