The First Great Comedy of 2007 is "Wild Hogs"

This new comedy has a lot of star power, Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy. While it might not be the next Oscar nominated film it already has reached 38 million dollars in its first weekend out in theaters (3/2/2007). Many critics are complaining that it is too clichéd and are overlooking the fact that people are just enjoying the movie the way it is. If you go to this movie you will want to bring along people that are not afraid to laugh aloud. There is a wide variety of jokes in here for everyone in your family. There are more then a few classic Poop and pee jokes ranging from them storing some poop in bag to a glorious pee montage.

The film opens up with a short introduction to each of the four members of the wild hog gang. Tim Allen (Doug Madsen) plays the role of a suburban dentist who consistently points out that a dentist is a type of doctor too. He comes to the sad realization that his son does not think of him as a cool dad even though he tries to be. He asks his son to go shoot some hoops with him and when his offer is rejected the phone rings, and it is one of the kid's friends. He ends up going over to his house to play basketball with his friend and his friend's dad because the other dad is cool. Jill Hennessy (Kelly Madsen) plays Tim Allen's wife, she is responsible for his rigid diet and the cartoon character sewn into the gang's leather jackets.

John Travolta (Woody Stevens) hatches the plot to go on a road trip with the guys after finding out that he is flat broke. He hides his motives from his friends and encourages them to throw away any attempt at trying to plan the trip. This of course proves to be a mistake since the men decide to throw their phones away. Later he lies to the guys about straightening out a deal gone bad with a real gang of bikers. He cut their fuel lines on their bikes and the leaked fuel caught on fire and blew up the biker bar. He tells the guys that he told them he would sue them for every single penny if they would not return Dudley's bike. The biker gang chases them down and Travolta is forced to tell his friends the truth about his life: his wife left him, he does not have any money left and he cut the fuel lines and blew the bar up.

Martin Lawrence (Bobby Davis) plays a work at home dad who is ruled over by his wife (Tachina Arnold) who insists he returns to work since he has not finished his book in a year. He has to join "The Firm" his old plumbing job is worse then he remembered. The guys joke around with him that he is afraid of women, afraid that they are going to come and kill him in his sleep. Near the end of the movie, he does ask his wife to stop talking at him, which she agrees too.

William H. Macy (Dudley Frank) is the nerd of the group he works as a computer programmer and is terrified of the fairer sex. He gets over his fears when he meets a small town diner owner the films only love interest Maggie (Marisa Tomei). He tries to stop the real bike gang from destroying her diner. They tape him up and hang him from a tree where the guys are forced to stand off against 50 men. They are only saved when the biker gangs founder and dad of their leader. He tells them that these four men are right that they are real bikers. He says he should thank them for burning down the old bar since it was worth more to him now that he can claim the money from his insurance.

The movie runs for an hour and forty minutes, with a surprise hidden as the credits start rolling.
