Well one day I was with my son at Target and he spotted Elmo on a sippy cup. He is going through a major Elmo phase right now. So I figured one more sippy cup in the house wouldn't kill me and I bought it. To my surprise and delight, it is by far the best sippy cup I have purchased. Who would have thought it, my son actually picked it out all by himself. Where was he when I bought the dozens of other ones that didn't work? Of course, with my obsession I ran back to Target and bought roughly 5 more.
You can buy all different designs with these sippy cups. We bought Elmo, Sesame Street, Thomas the train, and Lightening McQueen so far. I know my son is going to want more Sesame Street designs too. What I love about these sippy cups is that they do not leak at all. They are wonderful. There is no straw that I have to worry about my son chewing a hole in. There are two openings built right into the cover. All my son has to do is suck on the one hole and the juice comes out. I think the other hole is for a straw if he wanted to put one in. I rather he didn't have a straw so we just leave that hole alone.
These sippy cups are dishwasher safe. Trust me, I know because I must have run each one through the dishwasher a thousand times already. The characters in the design do not fade when they are washed. The cups are not too heavy or too light. My son is able to pick them up and drink them from them without a problem. I bought these cups in a two pack for around $7.99 from Target. It has been worth every penny. I took all of my other sippy cups and stuck them in a box for the basement.
These cups are also insulated so his juice stays nice and cold. Sometimes he likes to hold his cup for a little while before drinking it and I don't have to worry about putting it back in the fridge right away. The tops of the cups twist on and off so here again I don't have to worry about my son popping the top off and spilling it everywhere. This is the only sippy cup I will allow him to take in the car.
I highly recommend The First Years Insulated Spill Proof Cups. They really are a wonderful product for your child.
