The Fisher-Price Elmo Live Encore - Product Review

Since Christmas is coming, I have been on my game when it comes to informing people about children's gifts. Since it seems like I buy toys every other day, I think I have great experienced when it comes to what to buy and what not to buy.

Last year on my daughters birthday I bought her the Fisher-Price Elmo Live Encore for $50. This was the very first Elmo I bought because I wasn't a fan of any of the Elmo dolls. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with the doll itself or just the price of it. Either way I refused to by one up until a few months ago.

I actually think that the Fisher-Price Elmo Live Encore is a neat doll for what it's worth. I had a little issue with it when we first got it but other than that I thought it was cute.

What I like about the Fisher-Price Elmo Live Encore

There are tons of things I liked about the Fisher-Price Elmo Live Encore but the main thing I liked about it was that it did a lot of different things. For one thing Fisher-Price made the Elmo Live Encore much more live like. The mouth and the head moves whenever it talks. I thought that was kind of cute.

Also his arms moves whenever he talks as well which was also neat. When my daughter first played with it, she was a bit terrified of the fact that it moved but once she got used to it, it was all good. She played with the Fisher-Price Elmo Live Encore every single day she had a chance to.

Another thing I liked about the Fisher-Price Elmo Live Encore was the leg crossing feature. This feature blew me away when I first seen it! At first I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when my daughter showed it to me but realized that the crossing of the legs wasn't just my imagination.

What makes the Fisher-Price Elmo Live Encore so great is that it's an interactive doll. It's not like the baby Elmo, where you just get a talking doll. It actually interacts with your child by talking, moving and telling stories and jokes. My daughter still hasn't warmed up to the story telling that the Fisher-Price Elmo Live Encore tells but I'm sure she will get used to it eventually! But then again it has been a year and she still doesn't like when he story tells?

What I didn't like about the Fisher-Price Elmo Live Encore

First of all I have a problem with the fact that the box told us that it took 6 AA batteries but for some odd reason I couldn't find where the additional 3 batteries went. Come to find out there was a battery area on the bottom of his foot! It wasn't a big deal but at the same time, it wasn't something that was obvious enough to figure out.

My conclusion?

The Fisher-Price Elmo Live Encore is a great Elmo doll. The enhancements that have been made to it makes it all the more fun to play with. My daughter loves having hers around, she treats it like her beat friend. I would recommend this doll to just about anyone.
