Dog parks are large fenced in areas within the main area of the park. Dog parks in Atlanta typically have two such areas, one for small dogs under thirty pounds and one for large dogs. Dogs must be on leash before going into the dog park area and also when leaving. When visiting any of the dog parks in Atlanta, dogs must have a current rabies tag attached to their collars.
When you and your dog visit one of the dog parks in Atlanta, remember that you do so at your own risk. You are responsible for the behavior of your dog. You are also responsible for if your dog does any damage to the park grounds or causes an injury to another dog or dog owner.
Dogs visiting dog parks in Atlanta must be socialized, friendly dogs that get along with other dogs. If your dog does not enjoy playing with other dogs, then a dog park is not a good place for your dog to visit. No aggressive dogs are allowed in dog parks. In addition, dogs that are in season, dogs with transmittable diseases and puppies that are under six months of age are disallowed in dog parks.

Dogs that become uncontrollable and disruptive should be leashed immediately and taken out of the dog park by their owners. Dogs should never be left alone in the dog park by their owners.

Ronald Reagan Dog Park is located at 2777 Five Forks Trickum Road in Lawrenceville, Georgia, outside of Atlanta. In addition to the two fenced in areas, there is also a large fenced in dog run. Park hours are from 7:00 am to dusk.
Piedmont Park Dog Park is located at 1071 Piedmont Avenue in Atlanta, Georgia. The park is the largest dog park in Atlanta and includes a pond and trails for hiking. The park is open from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm.
Sweat Mountain Dog Park is located at 4346 Steinhauer Road in Marietta, Georgia, outside of Atlanta. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk, but is closed on Wednesday mornings for maintenance.
Pinckneyville Dog Park is located at 4758 South Old Peachtree Road in Norcross, Georgia, outside of Atlanta. Park hours are from 7:00 am to dusk.
Mason Mill Dog Park is located at 1400 McConnell Drive in Decatur, Georgia. This is the smallest dog park in the Atlanta area and is open from dawn to dusk.

My dog wouldn't know what to do at a dog park. She's used to running through the woods and has so much freedom. It's a great concept for city dogs though! :)
