The Five Best Restaurants in Meadville, PA, 16335

Passing Through Meadville? You've GOT to Check Out My Favorite Restaurants in Town!

Donald Pennington
I'm an eater. Have been all my life, really. When it comes to eating good, and in my budget, that usually means eating at home. But, sometimes even in the strictest of diets, the situation just calls for a restaurant! If you're anywhere near the ZIP code of 16335, you are in luck, and the search for a great place to eat is over.

The Five Best Restaurants in Meadville, PA, Number One:

The Pampered Palate
748 N Main St.,
Meadville, PA 16335
(814) 337-2100
www.pamperedpalate.net (for catering)

This little shop is my newest addiction. There's no doubt in this reviewer's mind as to whether or not The Pampered Palate deserves the number one spot on this list. The sandwiches are excellent. The coffee! Oh...the coffee! "Exquisite" is a word that comes to mind.

No longer does a hungry person have to tolerate slop with speed at the local "fast food" choices because these folks are quick!

Yes, all that's true, but not nearly the reason this diner is worth the visit. You'll fall for the people working there. These folks seem to really understand that business is fiercely competitive, and that helping your guests enjoy themselves with a simple smile, is an affordable investment for any restaurateur.

Hurry though! Their hours are Monday to Friday 6 am to 6 pm, on Saturdays the hours are 7 am to 4 pm, and they're closed on Sundays.

The Five Best Restaurants in Meadville, PA, Number Two:

Red Lobster Restaurants
16736 Conneaut Lake Rd.,
Meadville, PA 16335
(814) 724-1205
www.redlobster.com

If it's Sunday to Thursday from 11 am to 10 pm, or on Fridays and Saturdays 11 am to 11 pm, and you've a hankerin' for some seafood vittles, you need to get to Meadville's Red Lobster Restaurants location!

Do you remember what it is, besides those awesome garlic and cheddar biscuits, that makes you like Red Lobster? Well if it's a pleasantry you enjoy, management in this location, pull out all stops!

Of course the seafood is prepared perfectly here. Of course the servers and staff are smiling. That's not the best part though. All I'll say is make sure you and your date eat at the bar.

The Five Best Restaurants in Meadville, PA, Number Three:

Larry's Market House Grill
910 Market St.,
Meadville, PA 16335
(814) 724-6642

Somehow, when Larry's Market House Grill is mentioned, thoughts of the world's best soup come to mind. Then images of that last burger romance start to fill my head. The food here is just incredible!

The closest you'll come to a bad point in Larry's is the wait. Coming here hungry makes the wait a bit tortuous, but, that's only because you're smelling all of the amazing food here while you're waiting.

Stopping in a few times will get a greeting by personal name quickly. Folks pass the newspaper back and forth here. It's not a restaurant...it's like coming home for lunch!

The Five Best Restaurants in Meadville, PA, Number Four:

Super China Buffet
18333 Conneaut Lake Rd.,
(814) 336-1158

The language barrier might be a little bit of a boundary to cross, as for the friendliness of the staff at Super China Buffet, but learning how to say "ni hau" (nee how), and responding appropriately to "bo hau" will get a sincere smile at the table (Ni hau is "how are you?" and bo hau is "bad day." Don't smile politely when they say bo hau).

Politics aside, this food is incredible. Variety is the spice of life and the owners of this buffet bought it by the truckload! The variety ranges from the usual items like: General Tsao's Chicken and sweet and sour everything, but also extends to the best sushi to be found here in Pennsyltucky.

Real eaters will be able to dive in from 11 am to 10 pm on any day of the week.

The Five Best Restaurants in Meadville, PA, Number Five:

Chovy's! Italian Casual
18228 Conneaut Lake Rd.,
Meadville, PA 16335
(814) 724-1286
www.Chovysitaliancasual.com

Chovy's! is a legend in their own right. Their food is a law unto itself, as far as following the rules of good cooking, is concerned. If that evening out, alone or with others, really needs to be special then you must put your trust in the staff at Chovy's!

Although they are an "Italian" restaurant, management has included a variety of "American" food so big they actually use two menus! They'll cook for anybody!

Although Chovy's! has been placed on this list in spot number five, it should also be noted that, this is the only fine dining restaurant on this list. They may be the only true fine dining experience in all of Meadville, PA. But, make sure you're here. Their hours are: Mondays to Thursdays from 11 am to 10 pm, Fridays and Saturdays are 11 am to 11 pm, and Sundays are 11 am to 9 pm

Might be a barmaid. Might be the beer...

Everyone's panning Red Lobster! I say, each individual franchise makes their own reputation. Evidently the one in Meadville is top rate and evidently has a barmaid you love to ogle. May stop there when we're in the area again.

You completely left out Julian's on Chestnut Street! Not only is their food the best in town, but it is the best in the area! How did you come up with your list? Pampered Palate and Red Lobster I agree with, but the rest just plain stink! Valenza's should be on your list as well!

I shouldn't have read this because I'm hungry. I love to eat too. It's a bad habit I started when I was a baby. *lol* These sound great!

OK, so how far is Meadville from Philadelphia? Judging from the el-zippo code, it's somewhere to the northeast.

Quite a mix here, Donald. There's a good restaurant about five miles from here. The nephew just put on a lobster and steak tip birthday dinner for three of the clan. Hell of a deal too. Free!

    Sounds yummy, Donald!
