The Five Best Vegan Eyeshadows

Jenna de Salea
If you are a vegan you have sworn off any and all animal products and products with any animal testing or derivatives. You don't eat or wear anything that has been near an animal. Cosmetics can be tricky for vegans not only because of the testing process, but some ingredients are animal byproducts. So here's a list of the five best, completely vegan eyeshadows on the market.

1. ZuZu Luxe
Whenever I'm asked for a makeup comparison between mainstream brands and vegan, I always say that ZuZu Luxe is a lot like L'Oreal. A nice neutral color palette, it's a great daytime makeup and has all of the staples. A personal favorite is the single shadow in Enternity.

2. Emani
Probably the most versatile of all the brands, Emani has great shadow duo and they even carry a vegan 'base converter' that will make any powder shadow into a cream one. Which is amazing since most cream shadows contain beeswax and are not considered Vegan.

3. Urban Decay
Urban Decay has been the pioneer and gold standard for Vegan cosmetics for years. It's usually the first brand you think of when thinking about 'Vegan' makeup. In honor of its Vegan Devotees, there is a special earth tone vegan palette available at Sephora. It contains 6 shadows and a brush.

4. PinkQuartzMinerals
This hand crafted eyeshadow is totally mineral based, made to order and 100% Vegan. The powder is loose, so know how to handle that medium before buying. Hollyberry is a favorite for its burst of color. Great for sheer wear and layering. If you have been sensitive to other mineral based eyeshadows in the past, this is a great alternative to try.

5. Manic Panic
Manic Panic, originally known for their over saturated bright haircolors in the 90s has expanded their line into cosmetics. Their products carry over the same intense color palette that made them famous, and are 100% Vegan. Personal favorite is the Dramatic Eye Kit complete with instruction leaflets and brushes!

There's a great selection of vegan shadows in this list no matter what your aesthetic preference may be. Whether you are into the bold look or neutral, you can still have your vegan lifestyle and not have to give up your makeup!
