Top Five Busts of 2008
1. Braylon Edwards (Cleveland Browns)- Edwards had a breakout season last year and almost everyone had him picked among the top three or four wide receivers to start this season, but he doesn't even get into the top 20 in productivity. Why the huge drop? The true answer is Edwards has dropped more passes than any other wide receiver in the league and it seems to be a mental thing now.
2. LaDanian Tomlinson (San Diego Chargers) It isn't that Tomlinson has been that bad, it's just that expectations are so high and he's been mediocre at best. He only has 6 touchdowns on the season and 770 rushing yards. The numbers don't justify the number one pick overall, which is what he was in most drafts.
3. Edgerrin James (Arizona Cardinals) Most people didn't have terribly high hopes for him going into this season, but it has been worse than almost anyone could have expected. James virtually never plays now and has lost the starting job to Tim Hightower.
4. San Diego's defense- If you are like most and have to draft a team for your defense you certainly would have had high hopes for the Chargers but they have been awful. The Chargers defense ranks near the bottom of the NFL in most categories and has contributed heavily to their teams highly disappointing season.
5. Derek Anderson (Cleveland Browns) Just like Braylon Edwards it looked like last season was Anderson's coming out party but this year he has regressed in a huge way. Anderson lost the starting job to Brady Quinn and is just now getting it back because Quinn is injured.
These busts have the potential to pick up their play in the last few weeks and salvage something of the season, but its unlikely owners will be thrilled with their production no matter how they do these last few weeks.

Post a CommentBraylon Edwards caught the dropsies this year.
It's times like this that I look back fondly on my one and only fantasy team - ESPN. I let the computer pick, and the only thing I had to do in the middle of the season was switch from McNabb to Tom Brady as starter because McNabb got hurt. I finished 3rd in my league.
after today I think Peyton Manning good by added to the list and Anderson removed:)
Shoot I should have put James on my list lol I forgot about him. Nice work!
