1. OPI - Ski Teal We Drop
The new blue hues in nail polish are much more flattering and multi-tonal compared to the blue-hues of the past. Many times, blue was passed up for being too 'punk' or giving the effect of 'zombie hands.' However this beautiful cobalt/teal hue from OPI is one of the hottest out there right now and has such a beautiful tone to it, it's more like painting jewels on your fingers rather than just 'blue nail polish.'
2. Nicole - Stolen Kisses
OPI's snazzy little sister Nicole has come up with one of the most beautiful berry colored nail polishes I have seen in years. Once I saw Stolen Kisses on the shelves I have been raving about it ever since. It's a beautiful berry (more on the magenta side) color with depth, but nothing too bright or with a color changing wash like colors like this can have. It's versatile, would go with just about any wardrobe, and one of my faves of the season!
3. Essie - Little Brown Dress
This rich chocolate shade is soon to be this season's 'Vamp.' Essie takes a color like deep brown and makes it rich and absolutely stunning as a nail polish. It's the usual Essie 'no frills' well made single shade nail color, but the way they have blended this particular brown makes it absolutely perfect day to night.
4. L'Oreal - Target Red
This year's drugstore winner has to be L'Oreal's Target Red. It's an all season red, a bright claret, that can be a great sheer with two coats, or made deeper with a third coat for an eye popping, yet tasteful red. The formula has been re-worked, and quality wise, matches up equally with Essie's Limited Addiction, another similar red of the season. It looks just like holly berries! Another great day to night polish.
5. Essie - Sew Psyched
Essie makes the list again with the muted green shade 'sew psyched.' Taking a cue from the hot metallic deeper green and emerald shades we saw from the fall, and once again doing a plain, straightforward, yet amazingly well done green shade. This is a great color to try if you are a neutral lover and are afraid to take the plunge into deeper colors.
So if you are one that loves nail color, there has never been a better time to try new things! From reds and traditional berry colors to the stand out blue, brown and green shades, there are enough to keep you glam all season!
