Even Bible verses are susceptible to being overlooked. Everything in the Bible is important and there are oodles of great Bible verses but there are some Bible verses that are better known than others. In many occasions there is another excellent Bible verse immediately after the really famous Bible verse everybody is familiar with, but it gets overlooked.
Many people are familiar with Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding..." The following verse, Proverbs 3:7 is equally as good, "Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil."
In Matthew 6:33 we are told to seek first his kingdom and righteousness but Matthew 6:34 gets overlooked. Matthew 6:33 isn't complete without 6:34, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
John 3:16 is probably the most famous verse in the Bible but John 3:17 is overlooked. John 3:17 goes on to tell us, "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
In John 14:6 Jesus tells us that he is the way the truth and the life. In John 14:7 Jesus continues to say, "If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."
Many people will quote Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God" but that is actually just a small snippet of what is being said. Romans 3:24 - 26 goes on to say, "and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished-he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus."
Many people will tell you to memorize these famous Bible verses and often pastors will take one individual verse and do a sermon on it. But when we do that a lot of other great Bible verses get overlooked. Don't just learn one verse and don't just study one verse. It is important to know the entire passage or even the entire story that the Bible verse takes place in to fully understand what it means.

Post a Commentread Corinthians 13:4-8 i think its great too....love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
i am so thankful for these verses for transforming me
