Who says romance is only for the young? Anyone who's been to Paris knows that the city of lights is one of the world's most romantic cities-one that appeals to lovers of all ages. If you're planning a trip to Paris with your special someone, be sure to visit one of more of these top romantic spots.
The left bank of the Seine. If a stroll along the left bank of the Seine River in Paris doesn't leave you gooey-eyed, you're not really trying. The river embankment here features a photo-ready view of Notre Dame Cathedral (lovely in all seasons), historic stone bridges and, when the weather's right, lines of bouquinistes, the uniquely-Parisian, mobile booksellers.
The Eiffel Tower. The number one attraction in Paris draws throngs of tourists, but it's still romantic. The 1063-foot symbol of Paris offers sweeping 360-degree views of the city. If you're splurging, make a reservation at the Michelin-one-star restaurant Le Jules Verne on the tower's second level.
A sidewalk cafe in Montmartre. Once home to artists like Renoir, Degas and Picasso, Montmartre (literally "the hill of Martyrs") towers over the city of Paris. Take the funicular up the steep incline and wander the cobblestone streets before settling down for a three-course lunch at Chez Catherine or one of the other cafes the line the Place du Tertre. After lunch, visit the Dali Museum, just off the square.
The Ile Saint Louis. Located in the middle of the Seine, just behind the Ile de la Cite and Notre Dame Cathedral, the Ile Saint Louis is a charming enclave with some of the most expensive and historic real estate in Paris. Stroll along the cobblestone streets of this small island and savor the architecture and the river views. Be sure to stop at Berthillon for ice cream. It's some of the best in the world.
A dinner cruise on the Seine. The exquisite views of the Seine River are one of the things that earn Paris high marks as one of the world's cities of love. One of the most romantic ways to enjoy this scenery is from one of the glass-topped boats that ply the river's waters. Many offer dinner cruises with dancing under the stars. How romantic is that?
