America is facing challenges from the world becoming a flat world. A flat world can be understood as a world that is becoming evenly matched technology wise. However, these challenges can be met if America makes some changes in the country. The first change is the change in percentage of students that graduates from colleges. An increase in the amount college educated people in the country will allow us to keep up with the rest of world, who produces more college graduates than America. The second change is an increase in the amount of job opportunities. There is no hope in competing with the rest of the world if no one is employed to actually compete. Finally, the third change is America putting more focus on the country instead of other countries and affairs. With education, more job opportunities, and our focus turned on us, America can not only meet the challenges of up rising countries, but also once again become the most advance country.
The percentage of college students that actually graduates from college is rapidly decreasing. This is one of the reasons why America is facing these worldwide challenges. If more students graduate from college, the chances of America meeting these challenges will improve. With a college education, people will have the knowledge needed to enhance our technological capabilities. Also, attending college also gives people the motivation to excel in a particular field. With motivation, we have the desire to take on challenges and become the best at what we do. However, in order to excel using academics, a job is needed to meet these challenges. With a college degree, the likelihood of getting a job is greatly increased, as opposed to those without a college degree. It is this increase that allows college graduates to use their education to meet the challenges of the flat world. Although college educated people can help American meet the challenges of the flattening world, the economy can also contribute to this.
One of the main causes for America's lack of ability to keep up with the flat world is the lack of job opportunities. This is the result of a weak economy. With more jobs available, America will have more citizens that can do jobs in the country and overseas as well. It's also fair to say that the more people working in a particular field, the more advanced that field will become. For example: with more people working in the medical field, more advance remedies are likely to be developed. This idea applies to all fields as well. Also, America has been sending jobs overseas to countries such as India for decades. The amount of jobs that involves a computer or a telephone is decreasing in the country and increasing in other countries, leaving America with less job opportunities. It's true that India produces many college graduates yearly that are prepared to do these jobs, but it does nothing for the America. While job opportunities play an important role in American meeting the challenges of the flatting world, America's attention on the country plays an even bigger role.
America is well known for sending their attention to other countries. Whether it is for good reasons or bad, their attention is there nevertheless. Africa is one of the countries that America helps out regularly. With America using it's resources to better African children, America forgets the American children that are orphaned. These orphan children could be potential college graduates that can contribute to meeting the challenges of the flat world. War is another affair that American diverts their attention too. While many resources and money are targeted toward the military, it's never taken into consideration how this affects the American people. With the amount of money that goes into these wars, the economy becomes weaker which slows down America's chances meeting the challenges of the new world. Finally, the use of recourses that come from other countries rather than our own causes many complications for the American nations. America focuses more on outsourcing resources, rather than focusing on the resources available in America.
American is facing challenges from the world becoming more flat. Although suffering from these challenges, America can indeed overcome these challenges. With an increase in the amount of students that graduates from college, an increase in the amount of job opportunities, and an increase in the amount of attention that is put the country America will have little trouble in the flatten world. It also wouldn't be too farfetched to say that America can eventually unflatten the world once again. America has proven in the past that we can overcome any obstacle.
