The Flowers and the Bees: National Poetry Month Spring Daily Challenge

Sandra Essary
Rise up at dawn,
Gentle breeze;
I approach the garden,
And roll up my sleeves.

Ground is so warm,
Bees buzz my head;
The plants from last year
Now are quite dead.

Bees buzz some more,
Flowers do call;
In the ground lies the bulbs
I planted last fall.

I swat madly at bees,
They start to buzz bad;
I realize, "I'm stung!"
And boy am I sad!
