I heard two great sermons today one at Church and one from Jentezen Franklin on TV. My Pastor spoke today of something I have written about before a while ago but we as Christians don't hear it to much these days and a lot of us certainly don't do it, and that is ministering the word. As a Christian we are supposed to do this.
Some of us either forgot that we are supposed to do this or never knew. Christians that read the Bible should know this those that don't and their Church doesn't talk about it never knew. We as Christians should be ministering trying to get people to know Christ, there are a few parables Jesus spoke about in reference to this.
I know some of you might say I'm not supposed to do that, that is my Pastors job or the Churches job, guess what people? if you are a saved Christian and attend that Church you are that Church.
I remember the Jehovah witnesses when I was a child they were always knocking on doors to gain entrance into our homes and preach the word but I don't even see them doing this to much anymore and I asked a friend of mine who is a witness why they don't knock on doors like they used to, to minister the word? He said most housing developments do not allow solicitation any more.
But you do not have to knock on doors to spread the word, my new co worker has to tell me to stop talking about the word, she is one of those people that don't want to hear the word, when I try to mention the power of prayer to her and the power of faith to her she does not want to hear it. When she asks I stop but I still bring it up to her from time to time.
You do not have to be a great speaker to share the gospel. but you need to know what you are talking about so you need to study the Bible, the Lord will guide you to how he wants you to share the word but we don't listen or pay attention to what he is saying or directing us to do.
The Lord gave me the ability to write so he showed me websites to go to to minister his word. Some people he gave the great ability and charisma to speak and capture an audience so they become great ministers in the Church look at your ability that God has given you look at the surroundings he put you in, if you look and listen carefully you will see who you are to witness to. But no matter what we should all be ministers of the word.
Next what is rarely talked about in some Churches but Jentezen touched on it earlier is that when you become a Christian, get ready for battle. I remember when I first met my great friend Brittany and I informed her we are all supposed to be warriors for the Lord, she said I don't want to be a warrior, my great friend Brittany is a strong Christian but some Christians are not told that the moment we become saved we are going to come under attack. satan does not want us to be in the Lords army so he will tempt us and tempt us and if we are not strong warriors we will give in to the temptation and then he will try to deceive us into becoming to ashamed to ask the Lord for forgiveness and try to get us to believe God will not forgive us, to get us to quit and give up our salvation.
Some Christians believe once they became a Christian their life was going to be a piece of cake, no as a Christian we will face problems here on Earth, but as Christians we have someone to pray to that will ease our pain. I have been in some bad situations in my life but I was never left destitute, I prayed and I prayed and my prayers were answered but what I want to share with my fellow Christian Soldiers if hard times do befall you, do not leave your Salvation, do not go back to your old life stick it out and if you live the Lords word he will take care of you, and always remember you are only in this world for a short time but your life after this is eternal, it is not worth it to give up your eternal salvation for a short time of sin.
Have a blessed week and if the Lord willing speak with you soon...
