The Four Movies You Must See

My Account of the Best Movies of 2008

Ronni Dee
2008 was a great year for movies. With so many new ones to choose from, and only a small budget to purchase them, how do you know which to buy? The following list of four movies from 2008 are the productions that I am glad to add to my DVD collection.

Cloverfield - Blockbuster Summary - The excitement of this movie comes from its take as a home made movie. Throughout the entire movie the characters are carrying their video camera and filming, at times talking in to the camera. This is what makes this movie one of my top for 2008. The perspective from a home video makes this movie one of the best I have ever seen. This view adds to the entire movie a punchline that otherwise would not have been captured with such excellence. (Not for small children)

Wanted - Blockbuster Summary - As always, Angelina Jolie takes her roll (as Fox) to a great level. This movie makes my top 4, not only because of the extraordinary acting, but because there are amazing special effects you do not want to miss. This was the only movie of 2008 that I purchased on the release date. That was not a mistake. The story line is great, and when you add Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman to a great story line, you get a bombshell. (Not for small children or those with a weak stomach)

You Don't Mess With the Zohan - Blockbuster Summary - An amazing performance by Adam Sandler in this outrageous comedy. You will find yourself on the edge of your chair, laughing. The play on modern day rivalries brings a comedic look at how things, sometimes, can just be worked out no matter what has been in the past. Adam Sandler brings a kind of comedy to all of his work that is just unrivaled anywhere else. (Language and other suggestive material)

21 - Blockbuster Summary - An excellent cast for an excellent movie. As a child I thought going to MIT would be the ultimate accomplishment. These MIT students take their intelligence and use it, to a whole new advantage. Too smart for their own good maybe. When one relatively quiet student finds himself wound up in a group of super smart gamblers, his life will change, potentially forever. This movie makes my top 4 because it was one of those movies that makes you say 'I could have thought of that'. (Language)www.blockbuster.com
