Having lived in New Orleans when opened up within a mile of my home it caught my eye. This is a very well decorated bar & grill. It as a warm inviting atmosphere, easy parking since it's in a shopping center, has wheel chair accessibilty and it is kid friendly as well. There is a large amount of indoor and outdoor seating with bars in both areas. The wait staff are very friendly and fast. Valet parking is offered. This is a less than attractive shopping center with K Mart and a Muvico nearby. It faces Federal Highway and there is quite a bit of car noise.

The French Quarter Bar & Grill has a Cajun slant, offering Po boys (what we know as Submarine sandwiches in Catfish, Fried Oyster (very New Orleans), Fried Shrimp, Roast Beef, Ham & Swiss all with Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle and house dressing or Hot Sausage with Provolone and Peppers. These run a hefty $10.95 to $11.95, certainly not your $5.00 foot long. The Muffaletta is several pounds of sandwich. It could easily feed four people. It comes stuffed with cold cuts and green olives on a beautifully seeded bread. You can order 1/2 sandwich at $9.95 or the whole thing and bring some home for $18.95. The Muffuletta St. Charles is a sandwich that beat Bobby Flay in a throw down. It consists of Creole Olive Salad, Mortadella, Cappocolo, Mozzarella, Provolone and Pepperoncini. It's a good enough sandwich I just found the olives overwhelmed the taste of the meat and the Salami or maybe it was the Cappocolo, still had skin on it making it messy to unpeel as you pick it out of the sandwich.

We also ordered Cajun Grilled Catfish Tacos. This comes with pieces of Avocado and Tomatos, Lettuce and a dressing. I was underwhelmed with this. The Avocado wasn't ripe and the fish had no particular taste. This was $9.95.

Having lived in New Orleans I was just not getting the wonderful flavors I expected. The Corn Chowder was bland, the Jambalaya wasn't that good. Hubby did a lot of adding spice to it at the table with the offered Creole Seasoning and Louisiana Hot Sauce.

You can get other New Orleans specialities like Crawfish Etouffee or Shrimp Creole. These run $14.95 to $18.95.

Friends of ours ate there recently and they loved it so judging the food it's matter of individual palate.

Sides are available. You can get Red Beans 'n Rice, Southern Potato Salad, Corn Bread and more for $2.95 each. We were given Corn Bread as table bread but found it very oily.

There are steaks i.e Bourbon St. Ribeye at 23.95 and salads or soups like Seafood Gumbo $4.50/$5.99.

Kids meals are for kids 12 and under and are a set $4.99 for Mac n Cheese, Cheeseburger, Grilled Cheese or Catfish Tenders.

Dessert offers Poydras Pecan Pie, French Quarter Sundae and several typical desserts in the $5.50 range..

Happy hour 3-7 pm (2 for one on all drinks except specialty) M-F

Lunch Dinner Daily 11:30 a.m.-2 a.m.

The prices are steep no question about it. I don't highly recommend it but it's worth at least one try.
