The book sale, held in May and November, allows the Friends of the Baldwin Public Library to donate the proceeds back to the library itself. These funds are then used for various things, such as obtaining new materials, implementing new programs and continuing current ones, and many other things.
The November book sale will be held Friday through Monday, November 12-14, 2010. Friday's sale, which is from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, is reserved for members of the Friends of Baldwin Public Library, but you can join that evening simply by requesting to do so when you walk in the door. Hours for the Saturday book sale are from 9:30 AM until 4:30 PM; Sunday hours are from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM, and this is half-price day.
On Monday, the hours are 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. On this day, you can purchase a bag for $3.00 and fill it with as many books as it will hold.
If you like, you can complete the membership form (the link is included below) beforehand and turn it in when you arrive on Friday for the special "sneak peek". That way, you won't have to spend valuable browsing and buying time taking care of paperwork.
Even if you don't care to join Friends of Baldwin County Library, there is always a need for volunteers at the two book sales. If you are interested, you can contact the friends at the website listed below.
