The Fugly Feline Finals

They Will Change Your View on Cats... Really

Ashley Hudson
Cats are notorious for being fuzzy, cuddly, and cute. Right? Um.. wrong. Not all cats fit that bill. Here, I offer you solid proof that not all cats are created equal. Warning: these are some seriously freaky felines. (Click on the breed name for a picture):

Bombay

With a squashed face and eyes twice the size of any normal cat, the Bombay more closely resembles a bush baby.

Singapura

There just isn't a single attractive thing about this cat. Check out that angular face... brings to mind an anorexic underwear model. Who, by the way, also possesses no attractive qualities.

Scottish Fold

Wow! Was this kitty just a witness to an alien invasion?! No... they always look like that. They perpetually look surprised and/or terrified. I doubt this would inspire much self-confidence in its owner. And what's up with those ears?

Oriental

This cat is ugly. But hey, think of the benefits of having one. You can watch all the movie channels free!

Exotic

Is it a gerbil? Is it a hamster? No! It's a... cat?! Huh, well I'll be darned. Could have fooled me.

Colorpoint Shorthair

If I saw this freaky feline in an alley, I'd run in the other direction. This is no cat.... It's a demon! Beware!

Devon Rex

At this point I am starting to wonder what exactly the criteria is for being dubbed "cat". This abomination resembles no cat I've ever seen. It's downright disturbing.

Cornish Rex

Ah, that close cousin of the Devon, the Cornish Rex. Maybe too close? "Cousins make dozens," they say, and I would have to agree that there are definite signs of inbreeding here.

Javanese

I don't care what the Cat Fancier's Association says... that is a monkey. Period.

And the fugliest feline of all...

Sphynx

Behold! I have proof that hairless rats the size of dogs really do exist! What? It's a cat?! You have to be kidding me. That is the most hideous creature I have ever laid eyes upon.

Really, though, it takes all kinds. I'm sure these cats make wonderful loving pets, if you can get past feeling nauseous when you look at them. And of course those frightful nights when you awaken to find that face staring down at you. It's enough to bring on a relapse of those bed-wetting episodes. Don't lie, you know you had them. If you like the look of these breeds, by all means go out and get yourself one. Different strokes for different folks makes the world go 'round.

LMAO! Great article. I own a colorpoint shorthair, though, so I have to step in, in their defense: only the really inbred ones have those freakish sharp angles. Mine looks like a totally normal cat but with pretty markings. :)

great article. I work as co director for South Texas Persian Rescue so I have come to love all the faces-- the flatter the better

Okay, I hate cats. That might be too strong. I'd never own a cat. But these...faces only their mothers could love. I'm kind of confused though. When I clicked on Sphynx, it wasn't a picture of the wrinkled thing you have next to your article.
