The Fun of Having Pets

Have you ever thought about how boring life would be without our pets? Animals calm us when we're stressed, love us unconditionally, and make us laugh when we're feeling down.
Life is much more fun within the presence of our pets.

We all know how much energy children have. Isn't it wonderful to know that your dog will have fun with them for hours? Not only is your child entertained and active, the dog get's exercise as well. Children also benefit because they learn discipline and responsibilities in pet ownership.

It has been reported that pet owners are more active than non pet owners. This is particularly important when it comes to the elderly. Caring for a pet prevents loneliness, and provides a sense of purpose and security. They demand our attention, and our energy. A recent study confirmed that elderly people without a strong social support system are more likely to stay emotionally healthy by owning a pet.

Who among us hasn't seen dog's playing in the snow? It's fun to watch our bundle of fur leaping into a snow drift, or sliding on the ice. Have you laughed at the amount of noise a few cat's can make chasing each other around the house? How about the hamster that runs in the wheel for hours? I once had a neighbor whose parrot screamed "fire" every few minutes. Pets are so much fun to have around, and they truly are entertaining.

Our pets provide joy, laughter, happiness and security. They don't judge us and they're super great listeners. I cannot imagine how lonely life would be without pets. If you're not already a pet owner, and you need some fun in your life, consider getting a pet.
