The Funny Things Toddlers Do

Little People Know How to Produce Big Laughter from Others

Kimberly Walters
I never knew that motherhood would be so fun. When I had my first child we would get laughs as he would run around the house and cock his head to one side, slowly raising one eye brow and saying, "Are you serious?" He was about three years old at the time. This phase went on for months. He would just do that out of nowhere. In the doctor's office, at home, at friend's houses, no matter where we were you would get that cocked head and, "Are you serious?" out of the blue. Parenting that child has been nothing but pleasure since day one.

When my second son came I was pleased to see that I had given birth to yet another comedian. Once again motherhood would be full of laughter. He would save socks and throw them at you when you least expected it. I don't know where he would get them all from, but he would always have a sock handy for that perfect moment when your head would turn, then wham! A sock upside the head. Then he would burst out laughing with this really deep and hardy chuckle. The chuckle that came out of that little boy was enough to make you laugh. I would never have thought that parenting would be filled with as much laughter and joy as it has been. Motherhood has definitely filled my life with much laughter and happiness.

I agree. I miss mine being little. Grandkids are pretty amazing too.
