The Future of Fashion - Vim Trousseau

A new name in fashion has hit some of California's biggest cities. Maybe you've heard of it. Now, being that I'm a guy, it's not going to be a regular thing for me to report on women's clothing. Still, I thought I'd be one of the first to give a real loud shout out. So if you haven't heard, the name is "Vim Trousseau!"

The innovative creator of this fashion line has already clothed up and coming stars, such as Chrystee Pharris from the soap opera "Passions" and the sitcom "Scrubs." This is quite an accomplishment, and speaks volumes of things to come.

Jen Garcia is a native of Los Angeles, and is turning her dreams into a reality with Vim Trousseau. But designing original styles is more than sitting at home with a sketchpad and colored pencils. A stint at Fashion Design School in 2002 began her journey. In 2004 Jen unveiled Vim Trousseau.

Not only is she the owner of Vim Trousseau, but also one of the driving forces behind the production of Élan Fashion Week '05. The five-day show was held in San Francisco, where models showcased designs from several different companies. Jen Garcia displayed a giving spirit, allowing potential competitors to take the spotlight beside her for five days. The show was tailored to give a firm push to undiscovered talent from designers to hairstylists. That's why I believe the show personified the future of fashion.

As I mentioned, I won't often report on fashion, but I do admire some of the more striking and sexy styles, that I've seen. Vim Trousseau is just that, striking, sexy, and new. But like every other artist, Jen Garcia does have her inspirations. She is living proof that it always helps to be a fan of a certain art form before obligating yourself to it. She has identified Dolce & Gabana, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Tom Ford and John Galiano as some of her favorite designers. With hard work, it won't be long before she is influencing future designers as well.

Recently the Vim Trousseau fall/winter 2007/2008-exhibition show featured a creative setting. For this event titled "Vexed Vixen" Jen cast aside the runway in favor of a more story oriented demonstration at M.J. Higgins art gallery in Downtown Los Angeles. Models were portrayed as living sculptures appropriately depicting very specific scenes of scorned women. The models were attired according to script for a Russian winter, in stylish Vim Trousseau fashion.

I'm uncertain about the status of an online ordering feature. A phone number is available on the Vim Trousseau website, for all ladies interested in these new styles.

I like to play bass and guitar on occasion. I love to read, write, play assorted games occasionally, and I am getting into gardening. I've begun to hate watching TV, save for one show. I like comics, a...  View profile
