Robots were first developed and tested for industrial usage and are now slowly coming into household usage too. When robots where actually made they were marveled at. When they were made to do things, people became happier that their technological future is near. It has been nearly 37 years approximately since robots came into existence and their usage was widely reviewed and welcomed.
They are made by people, they operate on our commands. Now they have their own sense, brain and also do stuff without any guidance. Robots are programmed freely without any restrictions, unlike our own computers have. Their administrative rights are low. This can be easily turned on to a bad case scenario, if the robot's program gets affected .The intuitions of robots which can be developed by walking, holding things, sensing movements are small targets which scientists have achieved .But when it comes to households, will robots hold the key to reduce the work of the humans in the house or will they increase it?. Many scientists when faced with these questions have sometimes varied and defensive answers about their creations.
Robots having household gain can be explained with the new vacuum machine which can sweep the floor and sense and turn if a wall or obstacle is near to it. There are more being developed now that are going to be 100% consumer friendly and also easy to use. These robots that are programmed for the basic needs can also be malfunctioning and turn opposite if there is challenges against it.
Robots came into being in 1960.This was the first robot designed to stack heavy and hot metal pieces. After this there was a tremendous increase in different ideas and concepts and in the last 20 years there has been excellent improvement in bringing robots to the fore front of the society. Nowadays people encourage robot competitions where robots designed by students and technologists are made to compete in a gaming manner with different rounds. These kind of competitions bring to light the ingenious creations from the technology geeks.
A robot can be programmed to sense the environment and manipulate with things and also closely interact with them and shows their ability to sustain. There are many fictional robots which are widely acclaimed over the years. There is the R2-D2 of star wars fame and the NS-5 robot of the movie I-robot. These robots were presented to the focus of the future robots to come into existence and prominence. There are certain robot laws which should be always followed while programming robots. Depending on these our future with robots will be a successful human technology binding or a disaster in the hand of too many people, in the future.
