The Garden

C. A. Hargreaves
Patterson wasn't normally one to just sit around and brood, he preferred action. But for once there was no action to be taken, no responsibilities to attend to. After more than 250 years as a vampire this was a rear situation for him to be in.

He was still in Faerie Meadows, and Moon Flyer had been kind enough to extend and invitation for him and his sister Kiyla to stay on as long as they wanted in her home.

He had decided that they would stay until Leaf Jumper was recuperated enough to return to the human realm with him and Kiyla. That's if he did decide that he wanted to return to the human realm.

But right now Patterson had nothing to do, so he had decided to take his mug of blood to drink in Moon Flyers garden. They had the most exquisite gardens here in Fearie Meadows; he put it down to fearies being nature lovers.

He had to admit that the natural sounds of nature were soothing, especially after having to deal with the ugliness of getting his friend and companion back form some evil kidnappers. For as long as he livedand it would be quite some yearshe would never get over seeing how bad a shape Leaf Jumper had been in.

It was a good thing that the kidnappers hadn't been around when he and Moon Flyer had rescued Leaf Jumper. The situation would have turned even nastier than it had been.

Patterson took a deep breath he needed to chill out and let go of his anger. But it was very hard to do sowhich is why he had gone out to the garden in the first place, so that; with luck he would be able to unwind and relax.

Not minding his expensive pants he sat down in the grass and took a deep soothing breath. Taking in the scent of the flowers and the near by trees, the lushness of the grass under his bottom and the gentle wind that was gently washing over his face.

Patterson gave in to the demands of his body and placed his mug beside him on the grass and lay his body down and closed his eyes so that he could enjoy this moment to the fullest.

The sounds of the nature increased to block out the concerns of the rest of the world. Patterson found himself relaxing more as every second passed. Soon he had drifted off to sleep as the moon came out to cast a delicate light over his sleeping form.

That is how Leaf Jumper and Moon Flyer found him as they cam outside after saying good night to Kiyla, as they made there way to there fearie sized house. With out disturbing Patterson's rest they walked hand in hand to there dwelling.
