The Gentle Falling Away

Death,
when one is in harmony with God,
is a gentle thing like Autumn.
It's the falling away of a leaf
as it turns in little circles
to the ground,
it's the soft sound
as it goes bumping along
on the sidewalk.

    Ah - but what is death to those left behind? or to those who are too young? As a Christian I still find death wrenching as if a piece of my soul goes with them when I am left behind.
