The Gentle Mist

Donna Cavanagh

A little rain decided to fall
And in its wake, a gentle mist
It kissed my face and made me smile
The smell of spring teased my senses

And winter doldrums disappeared

That gentle mist was all I needed
To feel the promise of a new season
Hope rushed into my cold-weary heart
And left behind all hesitation

Nature is part and parcel of life. We are from nature though we might not realize it often. Lovely poem, Donna - siva

Lovely. I'm reading this while the fog outside is thick and it's a great reminder of the difference between a gentle mist and heavy fog. :)

A mist? That is all that needed to get you ready for spring? I need a few 70 degree days, the smell of grass (lawn, but the other kind would be okay) and some Jimmy Bufftet. Then, I know winter is gone and spring is here and summer on the way.
