You know that feeling when you sense that someone is there standing next to you, and you dread the moment when they touch you, because you can't see them, and you don't know when and where it's going to be. Well that was the feeling that I had, and I was helpless, standing there in the shower.
Since I had shampoo on my hair at the time, I couldn't open my eyes, but I quickly rinsed my hair as quick as I could manage, turned around and opened my eyes.
What did I see? Something terrible and scary? An apparition maybe?
I had wondered if my wife had got out of bed and opened the bathroom door, which would have probably brought in a cold chill from the hallway, but no, the bathroom door was still closed.
The radiator had been on all the time, and the bathroom wasn't cold, but I wonder exactly what caused that chill feeling to overcome me.
Now there is something weird about this side of the house, as it's always cold, unnaturally cold.
This side of the house faces south west too, so it ought to get more warmth from the sun than the rest of the house, but the bathroom and kitchen, even the bedroom above the kitchen, they are just always cold.
My step-daughter when staying with us a few months ago said how cold and damp the bedroom, got, even with the radiator fully on, and even though we are not aware of anything dire happening in our 1950's house, the unnatural chill that you feel in there does make you wonder.
Nothing is worse than sensing a ghostly feeling when you are vulnerable is there, especially when you are alone and naked in the shower, and unable to open your eyes.
Maybe, just maybe the house is haunted, and doesn't want us there. Or maybe the cold sensation is just one of human vulnerability. Will we ever know I wonder...

happy Halloween
Boo!
Reminds me of a movie i watched the other night. A woman tried to get rid of a persistant stain on her bedroom wall. Every time she scrubbed it away, she woke the next morning to find that it had re-appeared.
I am not aware that the house is haunted, but sometimes it is unnaturally cold.
Are you living in a haunted house?
Wow, spooky. Be careful, Tony!
Lots of weird things go on in this world.
Actually the whole story is true, and it happened a couple of days ago. The chill was amazing, more than if someone had just opened the door to the bathroom.
Spooky stuff! Is it true? Regardless, great story. :)
