The Girls to Do List

Amy Stepp
If you are moving up in age ladies, you are probably watching your friends pass you by with getting into serious relationships and/or getting married. Understandably that you want to as well, but I advise you to mark off these 15 things before you do settle down. It will make your future relationship more stable! Some of these things I did before I got married, but in all reality, alot of the items on the list are things I wished I did before I tied the big knot with my husband. I know if I did, things would be a whole lot easier on my part when it comes to dealing with relationship matters.

1. Make sure you have a reliable birth control pill or contraceptive. You do not want to have to settle down earlier then you want to because of a unexpected surprise.

2. Live by yourself for at least a year. The more alone time the better before you settle down because after you do, you won't have those many "me" times anymore.

3. Buy a nice bedroom suit. Make sure you purchase a king or queen because this will be the bedroom suit you can use after you settle down! Most men do not have a good one to speak off.

4. Pay off as much or possibly all your debt. Going into a committed full term relationship debt free makes the arguments less because you will not be as stressed out about money. Also later on down the road you can rub it in their faces that you came into the relationship debt free (side joke).

5. Put to rest all past relationships. Make sure you do not have any sort of feelings for past boyfriends or guys you wished were your friends. Trust me, you will have dreams about them if you don't and you do not want to accidentally say their name out loud in the dream!

6. Have as many girls nights out as possible.

7. Take a vacation with a group of gals. Most girls always plan to do this at some point in their lives but they never do because everyone is settling down and their lives are just to busy to plan friend time anymore.

8. Finish school if you are in it. Make sure you are not trying to pursue your college education while trying to get a relationship settled in. Your studies will go down hill.

9. Have your dream job set, or at least a good job. If you are happy in your job, then you won't feel like your working just to make the money. If you are also happy in your job then you will not have to worry about taking out your frustrations on a relationship.

10. Take a vacation alone. Pick a place that you have always wanted to go on and go by yourself so you can enjoy it by doing the things you want to do!

11. Find the right church and get involved in the activities in the church. I believe a gal who is strong in their faith will be able to have their relationships flourish.

12. Find a hobby to do on your down time.

13. Purchase a reliable car.

14. Live with a person of the opposite sex for at least a year if not just six months. This will give you a heads up for all the things a man can and will do to drive you nuts!

15. Be happy with yourself. You would think this could be easy however this number is the hardest one to achieve because if you are not happy with yourself then you will settle for something you really don't need. However if you are happy and full of self confidence then you will settle for only things that are good for you!
