"The Girls Next Door" Featured on Third Playboy Cover
What is the Draw of Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson?
The girls, Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson have been starring in the reality TV show on E as "The Girls Next Door" for a few years, and this is the third time they grace his cover. They have appeared publicly with Mr. Hefner wherever he travels, always his young arm candy for all to see.
But what is the point of this show? What is the value or education derived from this show? I am not sure that I understand personally, I have tried to watch it a few times and find it to be silly and in poor taste for the most part. What are we telling children/young adults about life? Having three live in girlfriends and a ton of money is the key to happiness? That if you can find a rich, old man and snuggle up to him, you will be rich and famous?
I struggle with the idea of a show like this. In my humble opinion, there are a lot of other things to put your time onto on TV. Although I do not condemn this show, I certainly to do not condone it. "The Girls Next Door" Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson have made their third cover of Playboy, and have shown how they feel to the above questions. What about you?

Post a CommentWell isn't this nice for those who would be interested :)
I agree with what you are saying about it not having anything to take away from it and the old rich man, young girl thing, but I really do like to watch this show. They keep it really clean and modest, just telling the story of what the girls do during the day, what they like, their future career aspirations, and where they came from. Sometimes you do get the typical playboy image of a live shoot, but it doesn't show anything and is usually quick. I just like to watch it because they are funny and show they to be real people with real feelings.
i dont really know too many people that love this show...mostly gawkers per sae
Great article with excellent points. This isn't really for me though...
I think you points are valid. If you hook up with a rich and famous old man....you will have instant celebrity. Look at Anna Nicole Smith and now these girls. Who were they before they were someone's girlfriend or wife? I'll surf right past this show too.
You make many valid points Olin. What is the attraction to this show? I think that is obvious (at least as far as the men folk are concerned). :) A very interesting read!
i agree with jcorn-not my cup of tea at all....
I don't watch this show in spite of my teen's repeated pleas (even outright begging) to get me to turn the television to that channel. But I liked reading your article and learning about what I may be missing. I think we'll continue to flip past this channel :)
