Coast Guard Shark Warning Upsets Some Massachusetts Officials
I am so darn undecided over what is most disturbing about this story. On July 2, the Coast Guard issued a warning to people heading to Massachusetts coastal waters over the 4th of July holiday, to use extreme caution due to recent shark sightings. Silly Coast Guard overreacting!
A response from someone at the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce said the Coast Guard announcement was not good press, citing they were about to have the best beach weekend since last summer and - wait for it - someone might take the warning to heart. Oh, my aching head! Aye, aye, aye!
I have good news, though! Fishermen on Stellwagen Bank in Massachusetts caught a great white shark, seven-footer to be exact, on June 28. I have bad news, too! The father and son, who were tuna fishing, did the only thing they could; they tagged and released the great white. Oh, my...maybe that shark warning is legit after all!
I say kudos to the Coast Guard for issuing the alert. Boo to any official who labels such a warning as bad press! We're not talking swimming with dolphins here for crying out loud! View the fishermen's great white shark photos here and form your own opinion on whether or not the Coast Guard made a sound call!
Mini Cooper New Road Rage Weapon of Choice
Seriously, would you dare to instigate road rage if you were driving a Mini Cooper? I think not! A guy from New Hampshire apparently missed the Massachusetts warning sign, which clearly reads - Mini Cooper's are exempt from road rage anyplace here. Do not, for any reason, attempt to use a Mini Cooper in a valiant or vicious act. Just like the Batman cape, which does not enable the wearer to fly; a Mini Cooper is simply not macho enough and will land your sorry butt in court, mister.
Yep...it's true. On a street in the quaint ocean-side town of Newburyport, MA, a 39-year-old guy driving a Mini Cooper was disgruntled (a good cover-up for really arrogant) over another guy who was going too slow in his Impala.
Believe it or not, the Mini Cooper driver, began waving a baseball bat out his little window. The over 65 year-old driver, pulled right over (he saw a Mini Cooper in his rearview mirror for heaven's sake - there was nothing to fear) and daringly stepped out of his car and confronted the Mini Cooper guy, who never left his vehicle.
A verbal altercation took place, probably some unchallenging swear words bounced around, and Mr. Mini Cooper lost it! He proceeded to ram the elderly gentleman not once, but three times with the Mini Cooper and fled the scene of the crime. Well, actually, someone followed him (not chased - didn't have to) and police arrested him shortly after.
The victim luckily sustained only minor injuries. A senior citizen fearlessly stands up to a bat-wielding guy in a Mini Cooper says one of two things; either people are just not going to take it any more or it's time to reconsider driving a Mini Cooper!

We all gripe once in awhile. What a fun article!
Well, if all your gripes are like these, I'd listen anytime! LOL.
You get to me every time.
Another great article, you find simple subjects and make them very interesting.
Laughing my head off!!! You just keep complaining, I wish my griping was as funny! You have a serious gift!
Girly gripe, I love it. I fear telling my husband about this, though, or else he could possibly apply that term to me. Lovin' the mini-Cooper story.
Those sharks are a real threat in Mass. Of course, the likelihood of being attacked is extremely slim. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't know there are sharks in the water, though. Go Coast Guard. Hopefully, it will keep those dang tourists off my favorite beaches this year. :)
