The Glock 21 45ACP is a Bigger Bang for Your Buck If You Want a Larger Caliber Gun
This is Probably One of the Better 45 Caliber Pistols on the Market
I really like Glock firearms. As I mentioned in the article I wrote on the Glock 17 9MM, they are simple to use and almost never jam. They are probably the only semi-automatic that would be recommended for an inexperienced shooter. Typically a revolver would be the gun that is recommended to the novice gun owner. With a Glock you will get more rounds and much easier reloading.
Bigger is not always better, but in the case of guns it can be the case. The Glock 21 45ACP is one of their larger calibers and one shoot will take almost any assailant down. The round will also penetrate some of the cheaper body armor that is out there with the right ammunition like steel core. It often will come with two 13 round magazines and a gun lock. You can also find 10 round magazines if you are in a liberal cesspool state that believes citizens should not be able to defend themselves. Hi capacity magazines are not as easy to find in 45ACP as 9MM but Glockstore.com does have a 27 round version by SGM Tactical. I really am not big on the hi cap magazines because of the weight, but I would always say it never hurts to have a couple lying around in a case of civil unrest or something were you might need to defend yourself or your family. You can also buy a Plus 2 magazine extender that will allow the 13 round magazines to hold 15 shots. This is what I do with mine. The Glock 21 is made in Austria and features a metal slide and polymer plastic lower receiver. This causes the gun to be fairly light weight compared to other 45ACP guns at only 26.28 ounces. It has a 4.6 inch barrel and a total length of 7.59 inches. It does not have a manual safety, but has the best trigger safety system in the business. You could throw the gun off the roof and it still would not go off. Your finger has to be in the trigger depressing the safety to engage firing. You will usually pay about $600 retail for the Glock 21, but you can find them online for about $500 or so and used for about $450. Glock will honor the warranty if you purchase a gun second hand and something is wrong with the gun that is no fault of the user.
You will experience much more kick with the Glock 21 than a Glock 17. You also would have more kick than many of the 1911 45ACP pistols that are on the market. This is because of the light weight of the polymer frame. It does take getting used to. It is not unbearable. I am much more accurate with my Glock 17 than the Glock 21 when I shoot rapidly, but you should be able to keep a reasonably good pattern with multiple shots like a double tap on the Glock 21. Like I said it does take a bit of getting used to but is worth it. I don't use this as a carry piece, but I do know some people who use this gun for a concealed carry piece. This is usually done with a shoulder strap or in the pants holster. There is a sub compact version that can often be carried in the pocket if you decide you want a very small 45ACP to carry. As with the Glock 17, the Glock 21 is easy as pie to clean. There are basically four parts. I would recommend checking out a youtube.com video as there are many showing it. The main thing to know is there are only four pieces to it and three of those are in the upper. I had cleaning it down the first time I tried. Another thing you will need to be aware of that ammo for the Glock 21 is often much more expensive than 9mm ammo. A box of 9MM ammo is often available for $10.50 a box, but a box of 45ACP for about $18.00 a box. If you plan on getting into shooting a 45 a lot I would highly recommend looking into reloading ammunition.
Overall I would say the Glock 21 is yet another great gun offered as a reliable gun you can bet your life on. You will spend less money and have way fewer problems with the Glock than any of the other 45ACP on the market.
