The Golden Apple Dinner Theatre is Strugling and Launches "Save the Theatre Campaign"

On December 18th, 1971, the Golden Apple Dinner Theatre Opened it's doors and has been open ever since. Their opening performance of STOP THE WORLD, I WANT TO GET OFF, was held as a benefit show for the Asolo Theatre, which was facing a severe financial crisis at the time. Now, 40 years later, the Golden apple is facing a similar crisis.

Over the last few years, The Apple has weathered 5 hurricanes, several false starts in a Palm Avenue parking garage, the recession, the oil spill and the major impact of the 2010 downtown construction, which surrounds the apple. All of this has caused the theatre to loose money and they have run dry.

After 40 years of giving to the community, the Apple is asking for help to pitch in and help them stay strong and keep on rollin'. With some help, the theatre can continue to provide Sarasota county and surrounding areas with amazing productions at a low cost.
