We live fairly close and usually go to the Golden Corral Buffet at least once per month. We usually go there for dinner, but occasionally we do go for the breakfast buffet. The only downside to breakfast is that the Golden Corral is only open for breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays. Oh well, you can't have everything.
Actually for lunch and dinner you pretty much can. We habitually start with a salad. They have several different salad greens to choose from, from the standard iceberg lettuce, to spinach, and even Caesar Salad and all the fixings that go with it. There is just about every salad topping you can think of, but I usually go for tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, black olives, chopped ham, mushrooms, bacon bits, and then I drench the whole works with my favorite salad dressing. I usually leave enough room on the salad plate for some of Golden Corral's tasty grab salad.
While I am loading us my salad plate the servers generally will bring us a basket of warm dinner rolls and some honey butter.
I have to stop here and mention the fine servers that work at the Golden Corral Buffet in The Colony. These folks are very attentive for the most part, and usually make certain to check to see if you need your drink topped off, or to clear the dirty plates, and bring more plates. They do a great job.
Next I usually make the whole circuit around the hot buffet and scope out what they have. If we happen to go on a Friday, the Golden Corral Buffet will often have shrimp of some kind, and seafood dishes. Quite often they have Yankee Pot Roast, and when we go my wife will usually sample some of that. One of my favorite dishes is the all you can eat Steak House Steak. You can choose it right off the grill. Delicious. They have chicken, salmon; you name it they have it. Vegetables of several different varieties, the last time we were there I found asparagus, which is one of my favorites
I always indulge in at least one dessert. Most of the time I get the Peach Cobbler, and put a little whipped cream on it. But if you want cake, or ice cream, or even pudding you can find it here.
The Golden Corral Buffet in The Colony Texas will fit your appetite, and your pocketbook.
