The Good and Bad of the Atkins Diet

The Atkins diet has a lot of press lately, and there are good and bad points to it. Here are three good points and bad points to the Atkins diet.

The Bad Factors:
1) Since you will be burning fat so fast. Toxins in your body that are stored in fat cells may be killed too fast when you first start.
2) Unfortunately, when your body goes from cards to ketones, you may feel tired. However these feelings should subside after you've been on the diet for a length of time.
3) You consume less vegetables while on the diet. Meat is a staple of the Atkins diet and vegetables take a backseat.

The Good Factors:

You will not be hungry if you are on the Atkins diet. The staple in the diet is protein from meat and protein makes your body feel full for longer periods of time by taking longer to digest. Protein is very good for your body.
2)
The Atkins diet will make you burn fat your body is used to burning carbs for energy and is now going to switch to ketones which are found in fat. Having your body burn fat this way is extremely effective. Most diets simply have you eat less calories than you should be and it is not good for you. The Atkins diet is much healthier and more effective
3)
The Atkins diet is healthy for you! IT has been shown to reduce cholesterol, triglycerides, and even blood pressure. The Atkins diet can even help acid reflux, sleep apnea and diabetes.

No one but you can tell you what diet is right. So now it is up to you to decide whether or not you want to go on the Atkins diet. Spent some time researching other diets and think about what you want to do. Stick with what you choose, and you'll have no choice but to lose weight.
