Advertising and Profits
Because Android software is free for businesses to operate, Google profits through advertising revenue. Google will integrate advertisements into Google TV and share this lucrative revenue with their advertising partners. Also, Google will collect users' data through this venue and make its advertisements more relevant. This is very similar to Google's Adsense program.
TV and Internet
The major advantage of the Google TV is that users can now experience television while enjoying the internet. This means hat, Google users can now watch TV, just as usual, while watching internet videos, surfing, browsing and chatting all at the same time on the internet. This hodgepodge is made possible because now all these can be accomplished on the big TV screen. Users don't have to sit in front of their desktops or laptops to watch streaming TV, or use Playstation, Wii or Xbox to experience the internet.
Google TV and Android
Google TV, just like Google mobiles, uses the Android operating system. Meanwhile, the Chrome browser is also incorporated for internet purposes. Google TV also supports Flash, which will be very useful because most internet videos also use Flash. Thus, Google TV provides an all-around internet experience for the users to enjoy a large variety of television and videos.
An Addition to Cable TV
Google TV serves as a great complement to the current cable TV. In addition to basic cable TV functions, Google TV has a comprehensive list of cable TV listings. Users can search for a TV program name to not only enjoy Hulu, YouTube or Netflix videos but also watch the TV program live as if they are watching them on a normal TV. Dish Network is a major partner of Google TV. The two companies will work to bring together a perfect combination of digital television and internet experience.
Many More Tools
You can switch channels on the Google TV through Android or iPhone cell phones. However, if you are traditional kind of person, you can operate Google TV through traditional remote. In addition, Google is working hard to optimize web page so that the web page for 20 inches computer screen can appear well on the 40 inches TV screen. Google TV can be incorporated into the TV itself or be used through a TV box. Users simply have to connect cable TV cable to the box to experience Google TV's internet functions.
Future Predictions
We have to know that this is only a beginning. More and more new and amazing products will be introduced to accompany this new invention. For example, the gaming industry is also working to put games on Google TV. However, since this is a new product. Many trials and testings will occur for this product to reach perfection.

Post a CommentWell, I have a Logitech Revue and I love how I can use my Galaxy S phone to control it and my DISH Network receiver. I even have the ability to do a voice search with it and share links! And, as a DISH Network employee, I can say that we are selling our customers the Revue for only $179. And I'm still excited to see that the Google TV platform is continuing to grow with the addition of the Android Marketplace here in a few months.
