Do you like museums? If so, then visit The Grace Museum in Abilene, Texas, located at 102 Cypress Street. According to The Grace Museum website, the building was built in 1909 and is listed on the National Register of Historic places as the tenth largest general museum in Texas. It is worth the visit, and you will surely want to visit more than once. So, what can you expect when you get there? Here are some of the fun things that a family can expect from The Grace Museum:

Historical Settings. The best sites to see in this museum are the displays of historical pieces. This museum sets their displays of antiques up by actually recreating the past. You might see a gun shop, a general store, a bedroom of a home, and/or a kitchen from times past. You will feel like you stepped out of present times and right into long-ago times.

Elegant ballroom. This beautiful ballroom makes the trip to The Grace Museum worth it, even if you get to see nothing else. The Grace Museum keeps this ballroom in tip-top condition. You can stand in the ballroom and soak up times that you've lived only in your dreams. You can only imagine the beauty of the dance as you look onto these glossy, waxed wooden floors.

Interactive art. The Grace Museum provides an interactive art display for hands-on fun, called Grace Notes, provided by artist and musician Edward Weiss from Michigan, according The Grace Museum website. This exhibit allows you to create and re-create art each time you visit The Grace Museum.

Children's area. The Grace Museum provides an interactive play area that even toddlers can enjoy. According to the museum's website, they offer an interactive clock, a gravity well, and a health zone, which includes a life-size operation game table and a build-a-body, using x-rays so that children can learn about the body. It might even be helpful for older folks, too.

Free family night. According the The Grace Museum's website, the museum's hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The museum closes promptly at the times listed, but the good news is that the entire family can get in for free each Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and they usually are not that crowded.
