The Graduate is a coming of age film. It isn't a classic coming of age film where the lead character is a youth or teenager. The Graduate is a coming of age film because Benjamin Braddock, a recent college graduate, goes from the classroom to the bedroom. He is schooled by Mrs. Robinson on the finer points of seduction, sex, and the realities of life. this is also a classic film because it teaches both Benjamin and us that it is important to be an individual. It also teaches us that sometimes it is okay to challenge authority. This movie was made in 1967. It has many of the themes that were prevalent in the 1960s, such as, the challenge of authority, the importance of creativity, and individuality, and sexual freedom.
This is a memorable movie because of Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft. This is because he makes us believe that he is a naive college graduate who is surprised by Mrs. Robinson's seduction. In addition, The Graduate is Dustin Hoffman's big screen debut. this movie is a glimpse into his future as an actor. In fact, he did receive his first Oscar nomination for playing Benjamin Braddock. in addition, Anne Bancroft plays the seductive Mrs. Robinson to a tee. We believe that she is going to success in seducing the innocence out of Benjamin. She also did receive an Oscar nomination for this role. Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson. The movie's soundtrack is another reason why this movie is memorable.
There are classic cars and there are classic movies. Classic movies can be black and white or in color The Graduate could be viewed as a classic movie because it has been watched by many generations of people. In addition, its message about individuality is timeless. Moreover, the acting is great too.
