The Grape Diet

The grape diet is designed to be used for a short period of time (typically around four or five days). This is because the grape diet is not going to provide all of the necessary vitamins and minerals needed for a completely healthy lifestyle. However, it's possible to lose around five pounds by following the four- to five-day grape diet plan. Due to the excessive amount of weight you can put off over a short period of time, the grape diet is best suited if you are looking to shed a few quick pounds before a big event, such as a dance, reunion or other gathering.

Eat breakfast each morning you're on the grape diet. It's important to jump-start your body's metabolism every day. The grape diet recommends taking a quarter pound of dark grapes and blending them together with half an orange, one tablespoon of cereal, and 11 ounces of yogurt. All of the fiber in the cereal helps your body digest the extra calories from the yogurt while the yogurt gives you many of the vitamins and nutrients you don't obtain from other aspects of the diet.

Eat lunch and dinner every day you're on the grape diet. Make sure all of the foods you eat are low in fat and calories. Base all meals around grapes, typically a quarter pound for every meal. Eat the grapes first in every meal. The grapes are going to help you feel full, so you're going to eat less of the other food. This is due to the amount of water contained in every grape. The water helps you feel full so you don't eat as much of the other food.

Have a snack in between meals. This is going to keep your metabolism up, which in turn helps you burn more calories throughout the day and lose more weight. You can eat small portions of grapes or other fruit, or a few ounces of yogurt. Avoid snacks high in calories such as chips, candy bars or pretzels.
