It's grandpa's moving day today,
Most of the family is helping.
Most of the family is helping.
Boxes and bags scattered everywhere,
Closets cleared out one by one,
Dressers emptied onto the bed,
Cabinets are opened and inventoried.
We all had lunch together today;
All but one.
It's grandpa's moving day today,
Because we buried him yesterday.

Post a CommentWhat a poignant poem.
Thank You for your comments. Grandpa died years ago at the end of January. I recently found this poem written on a scrap paper in the bottom of an old purse. A penny from heaven of sorts. ("Hi grandpa, I hear you!")
So sorry for your loss...packing things up is perhaps the saddest part. Went thru it with my mom.
Sad...was not ready for the ending.
Sorry to here about his death. may he rest in peace. The ending shocked me. Well written indeed!
