The Great International Chicken Wing Society Cook-Off!

The Great International Chicken Wing Society will present its 6^th annual chicken wing cook-off in Reno Nevada, June 30^th Through July 2^nd. The cook-off will take place in downtown Reno on South Virginia Street between 2^nd and 5^th Street. The Great International Chicken Wing Society Cook-Off was started by Willie Davison who is also known as "The Chicken Wing King", who decided to bring the competition to Reno, NV. Last Year the Chicken Wing Cook-off even received national media coverage from the Fine Living Television Network. It was featured in a series called "Best Bet Vacations". This Chicken Wing Cook-off is becoming more and more popular every year.

Last year the cook-off had over 117,000 chicken wings served and had over 55,000 people in attendance over the 3 day event. This year they are expecting to sell over 120,000 wings and have over 50,000 guests in attendance. There will be a wide variety of bars, grills, and restaurants from Reno and surrounding areas, who will have there chicken wings and sauces there for tasting. Some may come from as far as Colorado to show off their wing sauce. There will also be other vendors in attendance serving food and drinks.

This is bound to be a very exciting event. Awards will be given for the top 4 best tasting chicken wings. This will definitely be a good time go get out and have some fun, and eat some great food. There are also great places to stay in the downtown area, that area all within walking distance of the cook-off. Lake Tahoe is also nearby so you can stay at the lake and have a day at the beach then head down to Reno for the cook-off.
