The Greatest Prayer of All

Michael John
Since the dawn of mankind people have prayed to one thing or another, whether it was the sun, the moon, lightening, a volcano, or a big fat frog that showed up every time the weather got nice. Perhaps The Creator of all things instilled this basic human trait in us to prepare future generations with the understanding that there is a power much greater than us.

Of all the religions that encourage prayer it is the followers of Jesus Christ who believe He not only came to earth to show Himself but also died a horribly painful death for our sins. No other prophet worshiped by man ever rose from the dead as proof of an eternal life in Heaven. It is to Him that throughout time millions upon millions have prayed.

Prayers fall into two different categories if you will, we either pray for something whether it be for ourselves or for others, or we pray in thanks as a way of showing appreciation for what we have. Everyone that does pray has a certain method or system they like to use when doing so, be it something they were taught by their parents or instructed by a church leader or simply a personal way they prefer to "talk to God."

I remember hearing from someone many years ago that prayers were like little arrows being shot towards Heaven and some that may have been halfhearted or insincere fell short while others filled with strong belief and conviction got there fast and straight. Well of course no one knows the exact method that prayers do or don't work but that explaination does make sense.

The little story comparing a prayer to arrows flying skyward was the preamble of a suggestion on how to start each prayer. Whatever way you so decide to start your message to God is fine, I've found this particular way of beginning each prayer very fulfilling. Having said all that, here is what I believe to be the greatest prayer of all. Especially concidering how the world seems to be spinning out of control and away from all reason.

Dear Lord Jesus, God's only Son, who died on the cross for all our sins. It is through Him and Him alone we may enter into Heaven.
Lord, I thank you for every gift I've ever received and for things I've yet to see. I don't ask for health or prosperity or for my children or
parents. I don't ask for help through hard times or support when I'm weak. My prayer is that You return. I believe You will know when
it's the perfect time. I can only pray, that time is now. Please Dear Lord Jesus come back. Amen

Michael, just one PS: I have found in my many years of life, that the greatest prayer I ever prayed was one word: HELP!

Want to hear something strange April, I saw that video for the first time earlier today. And now you mention it ....Actually watching that video made me so happy because it seems all to perfect. oprah has been marketed from zero to hero for one thing, she has conversations with people. That's it ....that's all she does, and because she has been molded and marketed by professional "star" makers she has become this daytime T.V. icon with vast wealth and power. Maybe sent here to corrupt the feeble minded into following her blistfully into darkness.

Perfect ....this perhaps is what must happen to lay the groundwork for the greatest day that will ever be.

Thank you kindly Nancie, with the entire world seemingly going crazy these days it's hard to even try and imagine how things could get any worse other than the continual spread of Godless insanity. Demons know our weakness' and they are practiced at the art of exploiting them. Only One can save us from this mess we're in. Hence ....my prayer.

Thank you for sharing your Prayer with us, you are right, there are many different styles of prayer, I published a poem about praying last week entitled " Just Talk " ...... My life changed in an amazing way when I learned that all I had to do was to just talk, to him and he already knew what I wanted to say, he just wanted to HEAR me say it. My religious upbringing never taught me that He wanted to have a personal relationship with me, As a child, I was taught that I SHOULD have a submission to him..... This was a wonderful piece to read, ~ PEACE ~
