The chatterchatter of the shoppers
ECHOES IN MY BRAIN
Bananas 59 cents a pound
Cucumbers 2 for 99 cents
Candy bar 50 cents
"Bill you have a call on line one.
Bill line one!"

"I want that, Mommy!"
"Yes ma'am your credit card was declined."
"No ma'am I don't know why."
"Have a nice day."
Milk $4.49,
It's all overpriced.
I'm overworked and underpaid
And overtired of the

Beepbeepbeep,
Of screaming kids with dirty faces...
