This week it was Broadway Week on "Dancing With The Stars." This meant that the dancers got to perform to Broadway songs that we love and know. This always meant that it was time to pick up the music and the dance steps.
While Broadway music was enjoyable to some, others may have enjoyed the group dance more. Yes, this was the first week that the dancers had to perform two dancers. They had to perform their assigned solo performance, with their partner and they had to perform a group dance.
How did the dancers do? Who was on top at the end of the night?
Here are the scores in order of performance.
Rob Kardahian and Cheryl Burke: They performed a Cha Cha. Judge Len stated that there was no rhythm. It was too stiff. Judge Bruno stated that you have to be in charge. It was adequate. They scored a 22.
Nancy Grace and Triston McManus: They performed a Fox Trot. Judge Bruno sated that he captured the feel of it. Judge Carrie Ann stated that she would call it a show stopper. They scored a 24.
David Arquette and Kym Johnson: They performed a Quick Step. Judge Carrie Ann stated that they lived up to any performance of "Grease." But that they were out of sync. Judge Len said it was what it was. But it was fun. They scored a 23.
Ricki Lake and Derek Hough: They performed a Quick Step. Judge Bruno stated that it showed impeccable style. Judge Carrie Ann said it was poetry in motion. They scored a 29 (two 10's).
Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer: They performed a Tango. Judge Carrie Ann stated that the dance needed to be more aggressive. She also said that they needed to see more content. Judge Len stated that the holds need to be tighter. They scored a 19.
Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: They performed a Rumba. Judge Carrie Ann stated that she saw improvements. Judge Len stated "I never lost faith in you." He then went on to say: "It was your worse dance of the season." They scored a 20. Pro Dancer Maksim then had words with the judges. He seem to think that some of the dancers were being judged more harshly than other dancers.
JR Martinez and Karina Smirnoff: They performed a Quick Step. Judge Len stated that you just keep on keeping it on. Judge Carrie Ann asked if I can give another Tony Away? She then stated that Ricki and Derek, watch out. They scored a 29 (receiving two 10s).
After JR and Karina blew the crowd away, the group dance took center state. The dance gave the dancers a chance to shine, without the fear of being judged. However, the dancers did a great job. In fact, this dance was as good, if not better than many of the dances they had been judged on during the show.
How did your favorite performer do? Is this dancer on top of the leader board? Will you continue to vote?
This writer will definitely voter for her favorite.
