The Halloween Fun Starts a Little Early This Year! Neopets Key Quest Brings Out the Spooky Items!

When ever there is a change in prizes at Key Quest it prompts more players to join in on the fun. While the main page of Key Quest hasn't changed to show the new crop of prizes, when I redeemed ten Silver keys today I got a really nice assortment of items. After some of the abysmal redemptions that I got from my last two or three Vault visits I was ready to hang up my Key Quest hat but this is extremely good news for people who want better prizes. Even though this means the market is going to get flooded with items and the prices on them will drop, they will rebound because it is a seasonal prize rotation. This is a nice break from The Faeries Ruin plot of the 2010 Faerie Festival.

The pattern was pretty clear; one Negg, Codestone or Spooky Map piece, one junk item and one Halloween themed prize. Silver keys get you three prizes so I am glad I saved up some of the Gold keys (worth four prizes). You will still get a junk item or two when you redeem but I am really surprised at some of the Halloween themed things that were given out. From my ten keys, these are the "special" seasonal items I won:

"Mint Ice Cream Apple Lantern", "Chocolate Ice Cream Apple Lantern", "Spooky Lime Pudding", "Spooky Treasure Map", "Creepy Spring Salad", "Ghost Burger", "Bat Cookie" and "Ichor Ghost Toast". You may redeem and get different prizes; this is the first time in over a week that I have redeemed and I am glad that I help off to do so. I have also noticed that redeeming the keys during the day, between 4 and 6 pm EST, gets you somewhat better prizes. I am hoping they have a new Haunted board in addition to the Haunted Woods themed one that is already in play. My Ferocious Negg Token will be seeing a lot of use this month!
