The Halloween Preacher

Mary Naylor confirmed
He's the Halloween Preacher
and he's comin' to town.
He says his words are holy.
He says he's a man of God,

yet he violates the grief
of mourners, and rams hate
through their full hearts like a rod.
Listen, my friends,

I tell you no lies,
there's a demon agleamin'
in that old man's eyes.
He clasps the good book

spewing Hell-fire and damnation,
while a family weeps and sobs,
and the helpless dead are
lowered into the sod.

Take heed my friends,
I tell you no lies,
There's a devil arevelin'
in that old man's eyes.

He says he's preachin' the gospel
and he's wearin' the cloth,
Well he's Satan's minister
and it's hate embossed.

Take care my friends,
I tell you no lies,
in that cold soul
there's a ghoul and it rules.

See that Halloween creature
comin' over the mound?
That's the Halloween preacher
and he's comin' to town.
