The Halloween Shuffle: A Poem for Halloween

Fun Halloween Poetry

Bridgitte Williams

Take one step to the left.

Now, get dressed.

All dolled up in your Halloween costume.

No one will ever recognize you.

And, that is half of the fun.

Maybe you will even scare someone.

Now, step to the right.

Getting ready to party on this Halloween night.

That wig looks awesome.

Twirl around and have some fun!

Bare those sharp vampire teeth.

Earn a well deserved Halloween treat.

Promenade with me.

Down the dark street.

Gather up those satisfying sweets.

Have a happy Halloween.

Do the Halloween shuffle.

Look at that dude dragging his knuckle!

Try not to scream.

Tonight, in your Halloween holiday dream.

Werewolves frolic.

A treat or a trick?

Big black bats fly.

Dancing wickedly across the October sky.

Ghosts float.

Where they go, no one should know.

Skip through the old graveyard.

Now, run really hard.

Black cats creeping in the shadows everywhere.

Ring that doorbell on a dare.

Shimmy and do si do.

How low can you go?

Do the Halloween limbo.

Do it nice and slow.

Grinning pumpkins and screaming out loud.

That is what Halloween is all about.

Try to be home before the moon goes down.

That is when the zombies crawl above ground.

Teeth chattering.

Skeleton bones rattling.

Is that a witch break dancing on her broom?

We better be going soon!

Do a ghoulish weird waltz all the way home.

Remember to not answer the phone!

Take a bow.

It's past midnight and we are all done now.

Collapse into the rhythm of deep sleep.

Sweet Halloween dreams.

Everyone, who would follow precisely all your directions, will definitely have a safe and full of fun Halloween. This is like a Halloween walk-through guide.
Thank you very much for taking time to write everything down.

You sent me back in time for a moment and made me think of the "Harlem Shuffle" by the Rolling Stones. The video even has cartoon cats acting silly in it. The lyrics start out just like your poem by moving to the left, and then to the right.
