The Halloween that Wasn't?

S. Morris

One fall, windy, day. Bobby was on his way home from school with his friend Andy. The two boys were talking away, when Andy herd his mom call his name. " So, we going to the arcade later?" said Andy. Bobby quickly answered, "Yup!" Andy ran over to his house and Bobby decided to hurry home also. Better get my chores and homework done or no spooky Halloween arcade fun.

Bobby ran inside, up the stairs to his room. Along the way yelling, "Mom, I am home and going to do homework." She nodded, while on the phone. Bobby started quickly on his homework, though games, candy, friends, and fun, all went through his head. After homework he ran around doing his chores as quickly as possible. Feeling a bit drowsy, afterwards, he sat back on his chair at his desk. Looking out his window. When the phone rang. It was Andy. "You ready Bobby?" Andy asked. "Sure am, I will meet you at your house." Bobby replied.

Meeting at Andy's house, the boys were so excited. Talking about all the spooky and fun things that were going to be at the arcade! When the boys arrived at the arcade they saw all their friends there already. As soon as they went in, the boys saw all the webs, scary statues, spooky music, and more! It was fun , but scary at the same time. The two boys headed over to the games, with pockets full of quarters to play.

An hour after playing a game called, "The Haunted Graveyard," Andy was feeling a bit hungry, so told Bobby he was going to get some snacks. Andy said he was fine, so he stayed to play. He was having so much fun, already on level eight. Then, a spooky, ghost flew across the game screen. Bobby feeling a bit confused as to why the ghost appeared that way, he just decided to keep playing.

Then, a few more flew across, and the screen went white. Bobby, was confused and a bit angry as to why the game went out. "What!" Bobby yelled. No others really even heard because of all the music and talking. Then as he turned back to the screen, he heard a screech and then he was in a graveyard. Bobby started to freak out.

In this graveyard it was cool, dark, and spooky. Bobby had no idea were he was. All he saw was a bunch of headstones, a fence, trees with no leaves, just then he heard the screech. A few bats flew by, scaring Bobby. He kept looking around and asking himself what he was going to do. Then he heard a muffled sound of a mans voice. He turned around, then he saw something, hands, coming out of a grave! He was terrified. Then a body started climbing out of the grave, making deathly noises. He didn't know what to do. Then another and another, all popping up out of the graves. What was he going to do? Where was Bobby going to go? He looked back and forth, looking for a place to run or hide. Nothing, so he just decided to run in the dark graveyard, moonlight over head. He was breathing so hard, sweat starting to drip from his forehead. He looked back over his shoulder, the mummies were chasing him, slowly, but surely! He ran and ran. He then realized, he was going nowhere! He was spooky scared!

Then a creaking sound. Where did that come from he thought? Then he heard it again, a slow and steady creaking. Then, as he was trying to figure out what the sound was, a hand was on his shoulder! He turned and jumped, falling. Next thing Bobby knew he was awake, on the floor, next to his bedroom chair. He looked around in panic. "Bobby, Bobby!" his mom called. She looked worried. "What's wrong, a bad dream?" She asked concerned. Bobby asked her, "Are we at home?" She said yes. He calmed down. He thought for a minute. "It must have been a bad dream!" he said.

Or was it........
