That number is sure to grow with this, their national debut release.
With this CD the band manages to produce a well-honed blend of punk and Indie rock that produces a sound way beyond the band member's young years.
The band rocks it right from the first track, "The Only Thing Real," a very punk sounding track that features lightning fast guitar and drum work.
Add to that Josh Grondin's vocals that bring the song lyrics to life by being filled with emotion.
I think the song's lyrics speak for themselves with lines like this; "Never doubt what you feel, cause that's the only thing that is real."
This band also proves that their no one-note band. In songs like, "Luggage Verses Baggage," and on the last track, the ballad sounding song, "I Know."
When you think of punk music horns aren't the first instrument that pops into your head but band member Philip Katz might change your mind. He provides his horn talents in several of the songs that really punch them up to another level.
Growing up I played the trumpet in the school band and my brother played the trombone so I can really appreciate Philip's musical contribution to the release.
Whether it's straight out rocking, down and gritty punk or melodic ballads The Hanks bring the music quality up a notch and make the sound their own.
The main theme of the CD is about one of the most sought after and most miss understood human emotions, love, and all the different forms that takes in a person's life.
Whether you're in a mood to rock it out or set back and do some reflecting on your life this CD will hit the target.
This latest release from the band is definitely worth seeking out.
