The Hare Krishna Eco Yoga Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Don't Worry They Don't Try and Convert You at All

Buenos Aires is one of the best cities in the world. The architecture, the night life and the tranquilo personality of the locals make Buenos Aires a place where you can enjoy a high standard of living at an affordable price. I love living in the city but sometimes you just need a breath of fresh air. A moment of quiet living on an organic farm without all the traffic of the city is just what people need from time to time. I suggest you enjoy yourself and relax in the countryside for a week or two at the Hare Krishna Eco Yoga Park in General Rodriguez.

General Rodriguez is right outside the area of Gran Buenos Aires and is easily accessible from Capital Federal. Take the train from Once to the last stop which is Moreno, this takes about 40 minutes. Then take a bus that is next to the train station from Moreno to General Rodriguez, which takes about 30 minutes. Finally, you take one more bus from General Rodriguez (or a 19 peso remise ride) to the Hare Krishna Eco Yoga Park, also about 30 minutes. You can tell the bus driver where you are going and he can tell you where to get off.

General Rodriguez is not a tourist area. Almost all of the foreigners that come through there are visiting the Hare Krishna Eco Yoga Park. So you can use your best Spanish and talk to the bus driver. He will probably know exactly where you need to get off the bus. Once you get off the bus, you will walk up a dirt road for about 15 minutes. Then on your right you will see a white dome building, which is the Hare Krishna Eco Yoga Park.

The Hare Krishna Eco Yoga Park is $12-$15 per day, depending on the time of year and the length of your stay. Included in this price is your room, three vegetarian meals a day, yoga class and conversational Spanish class. Additionally, they expect you to work in their organic garden 4-5 hours per day.

Most of the rooms are in shared cabins and have wood heat and a bathroom with modern toilet and hot water showers. The meals are prepared in accordance with Hare Krishna dietary laws and many of the vegetables come fresh from the garden. The food is delicious. The work in the organic garden is very therapeutic and is great exercise.

I had a great time at the Hare Krishna Eco Yoga Park and when I left I felt completely refreshed and my mind was clear. The Hare Krishna's never once tried to convert me or push their religion on me in any way. You are not supposed to drink alcohol at the Hare Krishna Eco Yoga Park, but there is a store (kiosko) at the end of the dirt road I frequented nightly for a beer. I highly recommend going to the Hare Krishna Eco Yoga Park. Bring a friend and enjoy!
